Second Degree Burn Treatment

This is a second degree burn and it is very hard to deal with this especially if you are not a calm person. I suffered from this when I was 8 years old and since my grandmother don’t know what to do. She put oil on my burn that made it worse than she thought it would. It took my 3 months to heal it and everyday was like hell. Yeah that was true. If only there are available satellite radios before then maybe we could ask some help from the experts or hospital. And maybe the scar with not that visible until now
By the way, I am giving some tips on how to treat second degree burn that will help you as first aid treatment for this kind of situation.
Second Degree Burn Treatment
- Remember to cool the burn. And hold the burned area under cold running water for at least ten minutes until the pain subsides. Or you can immerse the burn in cold water or the cold compresses. And please don’t put ice on the burn.
- After that cover the burn with a sterile gauze bandage and don’t use cottons. Wrap the gauze loosely . Bandaging keeps air off the burned skin, reduces pain and protects blistered skin.
- Take an over-the-counter pain reliever. These include aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Aleve) or acetaminophen (Tylenol, others). Never give aspirin to children or teenagers.
